Importing Package Honey Bees

Our story of importing packaged bees to Canada began when Peter Bartel first brought bees to Manitoba from the USA back in the 1950s. In the early 1980's his son Norman Bartel carried on with bringing packaged honey bees to Manitoba and grew the business.  Since the US border closure in 1987 we have worked with Arataki Honey, which is based in New Zealand, to import honey bees and deliver them across Canada. Chris, Norman's son continues to work with our New Zealand partner who has worked hard to ensure that the bees brought to Canada are top quality bee genetics and well suited for our Canadian climate.
