Importing Packaged
Honey Bees

Our story of importing packaged bees to Canada began in the early 1950's when Peter Bartel brought honey bees to Manitoba from the USA.  His son Norman carried on with bringing honey bees to Canada and grew the business. Since the US border closure in 1987 we have worked with Arataki Honey, which is based in New Zealand, to import honey bees and deliver them across Canada. Now Chris, Norman's son, continues to work together with our New Zealand partner who has worked hard to ensure that the bees brought to Canada are top quality bee genetics and well suited for our Canadian climate.

In recent years with the need for packaged bees continuing to grow in Canada, we have expanded to include importing packaged bees from Italy and Chile as well as continuing with our strong partnership with Arataki Honey in New Zealand.
